Before you hand anything over
The questions founders ask me before we start working together, answered the way I would answer them on a call. If yours isn't here, ask it directly.
The work itself
What exactly is a Business Operations Strategist?+
I build the systems, structure, and follow-through that hold a business up. Inbox and client communication, SOPs, content operations, and the strategy that connects them. Not a task-taker who waits for a list. The person who makes sure the machine runs without you sitting in every seat.
How is this different from hiring a VA?+
A VA waits for instructions. I audit what is breaking, design the fix, and own it. You are not writing training docs for me. I am writing them for your business.
Do you talk to my clients for me?+
Yes, if you want me to. I work inside your inbox in your brand voice, handling inquiries, onboarding sequences, scheduling, and follow-up. Anything that needs your judgment gets routed to you instead of guessed at. Kate Ann Photography went from more than 100,000 unread emails to inbox zero this way.
Can I ask for special projects?+
Special projects are the point. A website overhaul, a Pinterest strategy, a full brand and niche change, an SEO content engine. Anything sizeable gets scoped first so we both know what it displaces that month.
Hours & scope
How many hours a week do you work on my business?+
The partnership is priced on outcomes, not a timesheet. In practice it works out to consistent weekly attention rather than a block of hours you have to fill. [CONFIRM: typical range, e.g. 15–20 hours a week.]
Do I get a set number of hours?+
No. You get a defined scope of work, which means you are never watching a clock or rationing questions. If scope grows past what the retainer covers, I tell you before the work starts, not after.
How much will I have to handhold you?+
You brief me once, properly, and then stop repeating yourself. Fifteen years in business and five spent exclusively inside the online business world means I arrive already knowing how these companies work. You are handing over context, not teaching fundamentals.
Money
What does it cost?+
Three ways in, depending on how much you want off your plate.
- $1,200/moThe partnership. Full-service, ongoing operations support.
- $27The Guide. Self-paced, with a 30-day plan.
- QuotedThe AI Edge audit and one-off consulting sessions.
Is it worth the cost?+
Price the hours you currently spend on work nobody is paying you to do, then price what you are not building because those hours are gone. If the honest answer is that your inbox is the cheapest place for your time, we are not a fit yet, and I will tell you that on the call.
Minimum commitment and payment terms?+
[CONFIRM: three-month minimum, then month to month with 30 days notice. Invoiced monthly in advance.] Structural work does not show its value in three weeks, so the first stretch is built to give it room. Digital products are non-refundable once delivered; full terms are in the fulfillment policy.
The Guide & the AI Edge
What is The AI Edge?+
A done-for-you audit and overhaul that makes sure ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google's AI can actually find and recommend you. Search is no longer only a list of blue links, and the businesses getting named in AI answers are the ones whose information is structured to be read that way.
Should I start with the $27 Guide or the full audit?+
If you have time and want to do the work yourself, the Guide gives you the 30-day plan. If you want it done correctly without spending your own thirty days on it, take the audit.
Getting started
Is onboarding a new person going to be hard?+
Onboarding is the part I have built the most systems around. It starts with an audit of what already exists, so the first weeks pull information out of your head and into documentation instead of adding to your list. You are not managing my ramp-up. I am running it.
Do you work with my existing team?+
Yes. A good share of my work is building the operational layer a growing team runs on. Angelika Johns Photography added ten-plus team members on systems I implemented.
Who is this not for?+
Founders who want hours filled rather than problems solved. Businesses shopping for the cheapest possible hourly rate. Anyone who wants a contractor kept outside the business rather than embedded in it.
How do we start?+
You apply through the contact form. We talk, I tell you honestly which door fits, and if it is the partnership, onboarding begins with an audit of what you already have.
“I feel like I can give you just about anything and you're willing and able to take it on.”
Ask the one you didn't see here.
No pitch deck, no pressure. If I am not the right fit, I will say so and point you somewhere better.
